Rennes confirm that Harry Redknapp is not the only manager looking at their player

Rennes President, Frederic de Saint-Sernin, has stated that more than one club are interested in signing his midfilder, Yann M'Vila, amid rumours he had agreed a deal with Queens Park Rangers.

While QPR are known to have bid for M'Vila, Harry Redknapp's suggestion that he is already on his way to the club are wide of the mark, with the player thought to be wary of the idea of joining a relegation threatened side.

Reading are also thought to be interested but, with demotion to the Championship looming over their future, too, Fulham could prove the best option for the player.

The Times today confirmed that Martin Jol is preparing a bid for the player - though it may fall a little short of what QPR have already bid.

Fulham, though, are willing to be patient and may wait until the end of January to make a concrete move, in the knowledge that Rennes are more likely to accept a lower offer.

And de Saint-Sernin, speaking to France 2, confirmed that QPR were not alone in their pursuit of M'Vila.

"We are in negotiations with QPR, but since yesterday [Tuesday], other clubs have made requests.

"There are clubs from the former Soviet Union and England too. We will resume discussions tomorrow."

And, when asked himself whether he had played his last game for the club, M'Vila responded: "Only God knows."
