Martin Jol is chasing 19 year-old Bayern Munich forward Toni Vastic in an attempt to continue his imposition of a younger, fresher looking roster of players.
At this early stage, the Daily Mail are suggesting that Jol has merely made an enquiry as to the player's availability but should Munich grant permission to approach the player, Vastic could well make his way back to the British Isles where he once impressed at Blackburn Rovers.
While in Lancashire, Vastic never made his mark on the first team but his performances at reserve level interested Bayern Munich enough to approach him last summer. The German club are thought to be open to offers, however, with Vastic not quite fulfilling the potential that was expected of him.
At just 19, though, the forward, who has performed admirably at youth level for Austria, still has ample opportunity to improve and Craven Cottage, currently a barren wasteland on the striker front, could be the perfect place for him.
