Reports from Portugal have linked Fulham with interest in the Dutch central midfielder Stijn Shaars who currently plays for Sporting Lisbon. Schaars is 28 and played a total of 42 games for Sporting last season (including Europa League Games), scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists.
He's had one season at Sporting and prior to that, had 6 seasons at AZ Alkmaar playing in central midfield. Schaars was an un-used sub in the defeat against Denmark at the week-end and the Portugese press are also stating that Napoli, Lazio and Inter have an interest.
