The Daily Mail are reporting that Arsenal's passing interest in Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey will become concrete over the Summer and a bid of around £10 million could tempt Mohammed Al Fayed to sanction a deal.
There has been some doubt over Arsene Wenger's willingness to bring the 29 year old Dempsey to the Emirates, not only because of his age but the fear that he won't adapt into his North London side. Arsenal scouts, however, have finally given the green light to Wenger, claiming he could well be the perfect fit to complement the likes of Theo Walcott and Robin van Persie.
With the American international's contract set to run out at the end of next season, £10 million could be enough to see him leave Craven Cottage, but his goals will be sorely missed. He has scored 22 in all competitions this year, often from midfield, and has topped the previous Fulham record for top Premier League goalscorer in one campaign, formerly held by Louis Saha.
Meanwhile, rumours continue to circulate about Trabzonspor forward Burak Yilmaz who, at one point, had supposedly signed for Fulham at an agreed £5 million.
Those stories were proved false but Jol is definitely interested in the prolific Turkish player. However, competition will now come in the form of Arsenal and Spanish side Sevilla, making the job of luring him to SW6 that bit tougher.
He's scored 31 goals in just 28 games this season and interest from all parties is set to grow.
