Defender is yet to sign a new deal at the Cottage as rumours intensify as to his January intentions.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has moved to deny a potential move for Fulham centre back Brede Hangeland.

The Norwegian has stalled over signing a new contract with Fulham and, with time running out, it looks as though an agreement is not forthcoming.

This fueled the idea that Hangeland could move on in January, with Fulham preferring to cash in on their captain as opposed to letting him go on a free in the summer.

Though Arsenal have always been intensively linked with Hangeland, it's thought that a transfer across West London could well be the most viable option, other than sitting put at the Cottage.

But Redknapp was not keen to admit any move.

"I'm sure Martin Jol will be really pleased to hear that this morning," Redknapp said, sarcastically.

"It's the first I've heard of it. He's a good player but if I was interested I'd ring Martin or the chairman at Fulham.

"But I've made no approach for him. He's a top player at Fulham so I wouldn't think he'd be available to sign."
