According to talkSport, FC Basel midfielder Xhedran Shaqiri has declared himself 'pleased' with the interest being shown in him from the British Isles, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham sniffing around the 20 year-old.

Another Swiss international of the Pajtim Kasami generation, Shaqiri has impressed so far this season, scoring 2 in 11 and bagging a hat-trick for his national side as Switzerland defeated Bulgaria in a European Championship qualifier.

He impressed on Tuesday evening as his national team played Montenegro and his recent performances have supposedly brought attention from London in the form of Harry Redknapp and Martin Jol. With his age and palpable potential, he certainly fits the Jol mould.

'I'm in good form and obviously I am pleased that so many clubs have noticed me,' Shaqiri said.

'But I am just thinking about helping my team win the championship in my country and qualify for the next round of the Champions League.'
