Hodgson: Building a Legend at Fulham
Now maybe "Legend" is a bit strong, but in less than two and a half years Hodgson has brought the club back from the death in the spring of 2008, a record seventh place finish in the Premier League, and continued success with Fulham's win into the final eight of the Europa League in 2010. I only hope that Hodgson remains in Fulham for at least a few more years, although there is already speculation of bigger and "better" things for him.

No matter what, I will be grateful for his enormous contribution to the club and wish him continued good fortune in the future..................................at Fulham!

Legend
Hodgson saved Fulham from relegation and turned them into a top-half Premier League team challenging for a place in European and mounting a great UEFA cup (er, Europa League…) run. It definitely establishes him as a legend within the club.
The one thing needed to solidify that tag outside of Fulham is to maintain this kind of position in the future. Other clubs have had successful seasons and made it into Europe, but have since fallen away dramatically. Ipswich in 2001, Southampton in 2003 and Middlesbrough in 2005 all made the UEFA Cup and have since disappeared from the top flight. Charlton and Reading had top 10 seasons and were then relegated. Portsmouth are about to go down, too. The only team to break the trend is my own Blackburn, and we’re now fighting off relegation every season instead of challenging for the top 6.
On the budget Fulham have, if Hodgson can keep the team successful in the next couple of seasons, he should definitely be seen as one of the best managers in the league.
